Amorphophallus titanum

Horticulturists at NYBG noticed that a six-inch-tall flower bud had formed on their 11-year-old titan-arum specimen on Friday, June 1, 2018. By Monday, June 18, the bud was 57 inches tall. By Thursday, June 28, the flower had completed its bloom cycle. For the last 36 hours of the titan-arum’s bloom cycle during the unfurling and closing process, a 24-hour live stream of the flower was featured on the NYBG website.
